The talk will be a review of the important results obtained for SN1987A covering the 23 years from the time of explosion until recently. Some comparisons will be made with other supernovae together with some expectations for the future evolution of SN1987A as it becomes more fully a supernova remnant through interaction with the surrounding medium. Emphasis will be placed on observations and their implications.
